NTA Helitron V CO2 – [H2] at FISMAD 2025:
Prof. Vaira Launches the Diagnostic Revolution
Rome, April 13–15, 2025 – Ergife Palace Hotel
The 31st National Congress on Digestive Diseases – FISMAD 2025 – provided the perfect platform for unveiling a major innovation in the field of gastroenterology.
On April 14, as part of the scientific program, Dr. Matteo Pavoni, a member of the team led by Professor Berardino Vaira – Full Professor of Internal Medicine and Specialist in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at the University of Bologna – presented the clinical trial of our cutting-edge portable diagnostic system Helitron V CO₂ – [H₂]. This device is capable of non-invasively measuring variations in the 13C/12C ratio in exhaled CO₂ following ingestion of a substrate enriched with the stable isotope 13C. Changes in this ratio may indicate physiological or pathological shifts in the patient’s condition.

A Leading Congress for Scientific Excellence
Once again, the FISMAD Congress proved to be the premier event for Italian gastroenterology, drawing over 1,500 professionals and featuring the participation of the most important scientific societies in the field: AIGO, SIED, SIGE, SINGEM, and SIGENP. In this high-level context, Helitron V CO₂ – [H₂] emerged as one of the most promising technological innovations on display.
IVD Certification and Market Launch
With IVD certification and CE marking, our device is now ready for international launch. It offers a portable, rapid, and accurate diagnostic solution that eliminates the need for CO₂ cylinders for calibration and helium for chromatographic columns. A tool designed to simplify clinical practice and enhance accessibility to diagnostic procedures.
